Homeschool: Building A Battery Operated Car (Review)

Nothing like a little STE(A)M project to get the kids excited! I found this kit on Amazon and after reading reviews, decided to give it a try. The boys really enjoyed putting it together and they are still playing with it, two days later.

Everything included in the kit

So....what do I think of the kit?
Overall, this kit was great. After reading reviews, I kind of knew it wasn't anything fancy. This was the boys' first time building a battery operated car so I wasn't looking for anything over the top.....just something to get them familiar with the process. Being that the kit is from China, the instructions are in English translations at all. One of the reviews mentioned this so I was prepared to run to YouTube to help us out if we needed it. But, we were honestly able to figure it out using just the pictures. At first, I couldn't figure out how to get the other tire to move so the car was kinda doing donuts over and over After a bit of troubleshooting, I was able to get both wheels moving. there's also no "On/Off" switch so you have to remove a battery to turn the car off. I would definitely recommend this kit if you are looking for an inexpensive starter kit. Eventually we will move on to purchasing all parts separately and putting them together ourselves but when you have no clue where to start, this kit is perfect. If you'd like to give it a try, you can grab it off of Amazon here: Emgreat Motor Robot Car (Affiliate Link)

I'm always looking for fun STEM projects to do with the boys. If you have any, please feel free to share!
